Library
The College has a Library with over 8000 useful books,various periodicals,journals and magazines.A new,fairly large
and spacious,two storeyed building is being constructed with financial aid from the University Grants Commission
(part of which houses the Library ).The building is expected to be completed in a few months,and once it is completed
the college will be able to provide the students with all modern amenities like computerized cataloguing,internet
facilities,reprography and an airy,spacious reading room with more of books to cater to the varied needs and tastes
of the students.

Games And Sports
The college encourages good players and athletes to prove their mettle at the College and
University tournaments and competitions,and our institution has had the opportunity to groom
a substantial number of talented players and athletes who have reached the top at State and
District level meets and cricket and football tournaments.A modern 16 station Multi - gym Machine
has been set up in the Gymnasium of the College.
An annual athletic meet is organized at the College and the promising athletes are chosen from the
meet for representation at the State and District level meets .
The college also organizes inter - class football and cricket tournaments.
Outstanding sportspersons are also encouraged with financial support by the college.
Stipends, Concession, Prizes
Stipends and concession are given to the eligible candidates as per government rules as well as at
the discretion of the College authority.Prizes are awarded to the students passing the examinations
with higher marks and also to the qualifying students attending the maximum number of classes.
However , the students attending the minimum number of classes as per University rules shall
not be deemed eligible for the prizes.
Health Centre/Students' Health Home
A Health Centr has been established by the college recently and a few doctors have shown their kindness
by giving voluntary service to the institution.
The College has a unit of Students' Health Home.A membership fee of Rs. 10 per annum should be paid by
each student.Students are encouraged to avail the benefits of Students' Health Home at nominal cost.
Computer Centre
A computer centre is maintained by the College to offer elementary and advanced courses at nominal rate.
The aim here is to provide at least minimum knowledge of computer to even the poorest student of the College.
Book Bank Facility
A Book Bank is being run along with the Library. Books chiefly text books,are loaned out to needy students
for a period of one month.
Grievance Redressal Cell
A Grievance Redressal cell has been constituted to take care of the complaints and suggestions of the students,
guardians and all other concerned with the college.All are requested to drop their suggestions etc. in the box
kept for the purpose.Anybody can approach the Cell and lodge her/his complaint , even on condition of anonymity.
Constructive criticism , we believe , will guide us to a better future .
Reprography
A modern Xerox machine has been set up in the College Library keeping in view the need of the studentsto get
the study materials , etc. xeroxed at a nominal rate.Students are advised to avail of the facility during the
library hours .
National Service Scheme
A hundred member unit of the NSS has been introduced from 2004 - 05 session under the supervision of Sri Suman
Ranjan Bandopadhyay , Lecturer in English and Programme Officer of the college unit . The basic objective of the
introduction of the unit is to encourage boys and girls in the age group of 18-25 to serve the community by helping
it to find out better means towards a healthy progress .
Vocational/Professional Education
The College runs a professional centre for the poor people in collaboration with Ramkrishna Mission Shilpapith
Community Polytechnic , Belgharia .This course is recognized and sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development ,
Govt. of India , and Directorate of Technical Education , Govt. of West Bengal. At present courses in Electrical
Repairing and Wool Kntting (by machine) are offered to boys and girls respectively.
Group Personal Accident Insurance
The College has introduced a Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy through which all the students of the
institution shall come under the cover of the policy against the payment of a nominal premium of Rs.16 per annum
per head.The policy provide compensation in the event of the insured person sustaining bodily injuries solely and
directly from accident caused by external and violent means resulting in death or disablement , within 12 months of
its occurance.The sum insured in this policy shall be Rs.10000 per insured person.Moreover this may include payment
of medical expenses (due to accident) upto 10% of the sum insured, i.e. Rs.1000 per insured person.
